A Brief History of the MG Midget. Presumably if you’re reading this you are already the owner of an MG, or at least a member of the MGCC, so are familiar with MG’s if not necessarily the Midget.
The MG Midget was a slight more expensive Austin Sprite launched in 1961. This is the popular Mk2 model with the strengthened large bearings, wind up windows and quarter lights, 1098cc engine. The car has had extensive work by previous owners including a respray to the period correct British Racing
The MG TA Midget replaced the PB in 1936. It was an evolution of the previous car and was 3 inches (76 mm) wider in its track at 45 inches (1,100 mm) and 7 inches (180 mm) longer in its wheelbase at 94 inches (2,400 mm).
